Notes
Breezy can be made with a contrast colour for feet, ear fronts and muzzle as set out below, or all in one colour as in the photograph. This teddy is wonderful to dress and the clothes patterns have been done in crochet. For these patterns see separate pattern sheet (Benjis cap and scarf also fit Breezy).
Materials
50 gms main colour, small amount of contrast.
8 ply (double knit UK) (worsted weight USA)
Front
Legs, Body and Head.
Cast on 13 sts in contrast.
Next row: Inc in each st 26 sts.
St-st 3 rows.
Change to main colour and starting with purl st-st 6 rows.
Next row: (P2tog) to end 13 sts.
St-st 14 rows and break off yarn.
Make another leg the same but do not break off yarn, then work 2 rows st-st across both legs 26 sts.
Shape tummy.
1st row: K11, inc, K1, inc, K12 28 sts
2nd and alt rows: Purl
3rd row: K12, inc K1, inc, K13 30 sts
5th row: K13, inc K1, inc, K14 32 sts
7th row: K14, inc K1, inc, K15 34 sts
St-st 8 rows
15th row: K14, K2tog, K2, K2tog, K14 32 sts
17th row: K13, K2tog, K2, K2tog, K13 30 sts
19th row: K12, K2tog, K2, K2tog, K12 28 sts
21st row: K11, K2tog, K2, K2tog, K11 26 sts,
22nd row: Purl

Shape arms
Cast on 11 sts at beginning of next 2 rows
Inc. 1 st at each end of next 3 rows. (54 sts)
St-st 4 rows.
Dec 1 st at each of next 3 rows. (48 sts)
Cast off 17 sts at beginning of next 2 rows 14 sts.
Shape head
Inc. each end of next 2 rows (18 sts), and then next and each alt row until 24 sts.
St-st 10 rows placing marker in 7th row 8 sts apart (eyes).
Dec at each end of next and alt rows to 18 sts, then following 2 rows 14 sts,
Cast off. ***
Back Legs, Body and Head.
Cast on 9 sts in contrast.
Next row: K1, (inc., K1) to end 13 sts.
St-st 3 rows.
Change to main colour and st-st 20 rows.
Make another leg the same but do not break off yarn, then work 24 rows st-st across both legs 26 sts.
Work from *** to *** as for front.
Ears.
Back (make 2)
Using main colour cast on 14 sts.
St-st 6 rows.
Dec 1 st at each end of the next 3 rows. (8 sts).
Cast off.
Front. (make 2)
Using contrast colour, make as Back ears.
Muzzle.
Using contrast, cast on 14 sts.
Work in st-st and inc. at each end of 3 rows 20 sts
St-st 2 rows
Dec each end of 4 rows 12 sts.
Cast off.
To Make Up.
Oversew back and front of body together, leaving top of head open.
Join soles of feet, matching side seams (seams will run from front to back of feet.
Stuff firmly and oversew head closed.
Oversew back and front of ears together. Turn right side out and close base of ears. Place on head 4cm (1.5 ins) apart, so that the base of the ears are stitched to head seam line.
Position and pin the cast on row of muzzle just below eye markers. Pin row ends of muzzle to face, leaving the muzzle slightly loose to take a small amount of stuffing.
Slip st top and sides of muzzle, stuff lightly, and close base of muzzle.
Embroider eyes at markers.
Embroider nose and mouth onto muzzle.
